pink, red & more pink.

happy february!  the month of all things pink, red, white and chocolate!  cannot believe that it is already this time of year, january literally seems like such a blur to me.  a definite positive is that we are just that much closer to spring. yay!

in the spirit of all things valentines...i was inspired to create a layout based on the theme of "love". i mean, what better excuse is there than to overindulge in pink and red? together? i cannot think of any!

i began this layout using a piece of plain white bazzill cardstock.  i really love using white as a background and i thought it would be perfect since i wanted to really have fun playing with my heidi swapp primrose and sweet cherry color shine.  these colors alone are beyond fabulous...but together...WOW!

to create  my background i had fun playing and using my silhouette cameo.  i created a design with hearts that i had purchased within the software.  once i created my design to have cut out, i then peeled away the hearts to leave me with a stencil heart background.  i really love this effect and have been using it to even create titles on my pages. SO fun and really easy to do!

my next step to fill in the open hearts was to use a piece of the hexagon design heidi swapp colour magic paper.  i LOVE this stuff!  i sprayed the paper with primrose and sweet cherry.  once i wiped away the excess color shine i simply mounted my white cardstock on top of the color magic paper.  voila! how fun right? just think of the possibilities! i know my head was spinning!

i then used my silhouette to cut out the "love" word available on the heidi swapp digital shop site from the mothers day kit.  i created 4 varying sizes and used a plain manilla file folder to cut them out of.  once they were cut i used heidi swapp color shine in the following four colours: primrose, sweet cherry, black velvet and georgia peach to customize them.  the large love i created an ombre effect by simply spraying sweet cherry, primrose and georgia peach (in that order) from left to right, one on top of the other to create the effect.  i also free hand sprayed some sweet cherry colorshine to the white space behind where i placed my photos to add a really fun pop of color.  i printed out three black and white instagrams on my home printer, adhered them to the layout and then added some red stitching across.  i added some simple embellishments: pink paislee artisan chipboard hearts (the large sprayed with black velvet, the small with primrose), a sugar chic banner delight, some sequin bits, sentiment sticker, paper banners and some handwritten journaling.

i really had a lot of fun creating this layout and just enjoying the "art" of it.

i hope you are all inspired to indulge into this month of "love" to embrace a new project, scrapbook page or mini book to celebrate that which you love...and of course to OD on some pink action. it is SO fun!
