FIND YOUR JOY I STORYLINE CHAPTERS JOURNALER

one of the best ways i love to take time to experiment, play and create is in my storyline chapters journal.  i love the freedom that i feel to really create anything i want...and sometimes it ends up going in an entirely different direction than i initially even thought!

i first began stamping one of my favourite quotes onto some beautiful storyline chapters pattern paper.  i used brand new heidi swapp stamps from "old school" to bring this title to life.  i love that in this one set of stamps, there are 2 fonts so they are really cool to mix and match.

i decided to add in more favourites of mine, including this cut apart strip from this pattern paper.  i love how these strips make it easy to create a fun and eclectic look and it really does the work for you!  just simply trim and add on.

i actually did not think i was going to add any photos onto this page, but this is one of my latest favourites and i could not resist.  the instax print just fit perfectly and this little getaway we just were able to sneak in really brought my family and me so much joy. i just could not leave it out.

i love working in these notebooks and the fluid feel that i created by having my project literally run over both pages was truly satisfying.  such a fun way to play and experiment. i really did not initially envision my project going this way, but it did.

i hope you have been having the best time creating and freely expressing your artistic ideas in your storyline chapters notebooks.  they are the best.

STORYLINE CHAPTERS I PERSONAL CREATIVE & WELLNESS JOURNEY

so say hello to storyline chapters.
a beautiful and brand new program from heidi swapp that combines everything that we all know and love into one seamless system.
planning, journaling, scrapbooking.
all in one.
yes.

and as you can see by one of the planner inserts, january was off and running.
and proudly i will say it was a successful month of showing up, keeping on and staying strong when some days i just did not want to.

one of my big personal wellness goals, like many is fitness.
i have been working hard on making running a weekly priority and it is honestly something that kind of just happened.
i love to do cardio and one day when i was just feeling sluggish after the holidays i just thought to myself...let's just jog. and let's just keep going. see how long i can do this for.

well that my friends, literally has taken me throughout the month for a grand total of almost 35 km ran in the entire month of january.  also not counting my other fitness classes and mini workouts i have also got in within the month.  i am happy, and proud...and feeling motivated.  total 'non scale' victories but i am proud to say i kept showing up...even on days where i just wanted to NOT.  and it led me to a successful finish and looking forward to february's progress!

of course i love capturing all of my progress and little bits of inspiration all month long.  not only does it energize me creatively, but it also is part of the entire wellness picture.  i really love seeing where i have gone and how committed i have been.  it really is not easy at times.

using my favourite products from the storyline chapters collection has been so much fun to play with.  this particular planner insert is filled with calendar pages and then a monthly recap/summary page.  i have yet to fill that page out but i like having my own chapters notebook just dedicated to a monthly overview.

it really is awesome to have this now and look back on where i started.
there is so much power in taking the time to write. it. down.  whatever your it is.

i have also been exercising my 'creative' muscle by using one of the journaler storyline chapter books as an 'art journal' type deal.

a place to just creatively play with paper and stamps and ideas and whatever will be will be.  this has been very valuable to me in keeping me 'in the zone'.

storyline chapters will be showing up in independent and online stores very very soon!
i cannot wait to see what you do with it.
XO

truly an amazing system for whatever you are wanting to document!

2020 VISION I COPTIC NOTEBOOK

as we are nearing the end of 2019 (oh so so quickly) and entering into not just any year but 2020! a brand new decade.  wow.  i am certainly feeling all the feelings.  i am not sure if it is just me...but i tend to get a little melancholic around this time.  the feelings do not stick around for long, but just enough to make themselves aware and for me to get even more reflective than usual.

i have been so inspired by so many beautiful and talented artists out there on social media and i love seeing what they are choosing to use to document this new year.  i love all the planners and journals...and the ideas! they are all so incredible.

i have been particularly moved by a woman by the name of @mindful_hookup on instagram.  she has the most incredible journals she calls "magic mornings".  and in these journals she does a ton of reflective work and they have really moved and inspired me.  i really want to follow along in her practice so i decided to create my own journal...that being a coptic notebook of course.

i chose to use the beautiful heidi swapp hawthorne paper collection to construct my notebook.  i love this collection so much and it is even still available!  you can get your hands on this stunning collection right here.

i used the hawthorne foam stickers to label my journal '2020 VISION'.

i love these foam stickers because the double sided adhesive allows me to use minc foils on them.  i chose this silver holographic.  it is a bit hard to photograph but it really is oh so beautiful.  the perfect shine for my album title.

best part about these alphas is that they do not even require a minc machine to be foiled.  simply remove the top adhesive, lay your desired foil down and rub with your finger or tool.

remove and voila!  gorgeous foiled stickers.  so easy and they always look amazing.

inside my coptic notebook each signature is created out of a different hawthorne pattern paper, white cardstock  and vellum.

i even created my 2020 vision board journal spread in my notebook.  it is created in the first few pages of the journal and i love that it is always in the front so that i can always look at it day after day.  a solid reminder of my focus and purpose with this journal.

having a beautiful new journal to begin a new year with definitely helps to offset the melancholic feelings i can have just before the new year starts.  i love the idea of a clean slate, fresh start, and beautiful possibility!

cheers to 2020, the beginning of a brand new decade.

TRAVEL WITH GRATITUDE-BIG PICTURE CLASSES

the day has finally arrived!
my FIRST ever class is now LIVE over at big picture classes.
i am BEYOND excited.
i remember when i first discovered big picture scrapbooking....and how all of those classes i had taken throughout all of these years have served to shape and influence me (not only as a crafter/creator) but as a person as well.

it really is remarkable how life can come full circle.  especially when you least expect it!
teaching my own class over on BPC is truly a dream come true.  i am SO honoured to be a part of this new and exciting journey!

my class over at big picture classes is part of a series.  i have joined forces with heidi swapp and the rest of the media team girls (jamie, jennifer, kim and maggie) to showcase just how revolutionary and amazing the brand new MINC mediums are for paper crafting projects.  trust me, your jaw will drop!  be sure to check out each of their classes! i know i will be taking them all.

each of our classes focus on the incredible creative diversity and possibilities that result when working with each of the brand new mediums.  it really is quite spectacular when you think about just how many ways (and all of the different effects) one can achieve with just a few products.

for my class, i have focused on creating a gratitude journal.  i am using the brand new MINC art journal album covers and inserts.  not only do i love the topic of gratitude, but i thought that putting together a class like this is also a brilliant way to learn about the mediums and how incredible they are when creating "art journal" type projects.

i am even using one of the new MINC kits to embellish the entire project with.   these new MINC kits are amazing because they are full of so many wonderful pieces that allow you to play and experiment with each of these mediums.

in my class, we will use the brand new MINC reactive mediums to create gorgeous page backgrounds.  we will learn new techniques that will result in the most beautiful artistic touches for your project.

we will "dig deep" and celebrate what gratitude is and what it means to you and your life.  we will honour this practice with beautiful quotes and sayings (that we will even MINC as well).

i really hope you are inspired to stop by and take a peek and try something new!  i am so very excited to share my passion with all of you.  this class truly was a labour of love and i hope it serves to inspire and enlighten, just as it has done for me.
