reflections.

some last minute reflections. as i enjoy and savour these last days of my first pregnancy, i thought i would share a little something i have been working on.

i guess you can say when each day passes, and your due date passes, you want to try and keep your mind as busy (and relaxed) as possible.  this album has certainly helped me do that.  it has served to help me relive, smile and document about these last months before my life changes forever.

it has been such a whirlwind journey.  for that i will be eternally grateful.  i have been so grateful from day one as my pregnancy has been so kind to me.  i have felt wonderful and i could not feel more fortunate.

since i have been blessed with this "extra time" on my hands i created this little mini album using my cinch machine and the heidi swapp hello today memory files kit as my basis (with extras) of course.  i absolutely love the memory file kits.  everything is coordinating, you get both large and small files plus all the fun extras inside (stickers and rub ons).  of course i could not stop there, i used papers from the hello today 12 x 12 paper pad and some fabulous NEW elements that are coming soon to stores from the heidi swapp dreamy collection.  get ready, you will be swept away!

for my cover i chose to use a piece of clear acrylic paper where i added some polka dot stencilling as well as some glitter stickers.  once you open that page, i have added a chipboard page that i covered with hello today paper and the word 'beautiful' that i had cut out with my silhouette machine.  i then added one of the incredible new dreamy kraft tags to the top right corner, with some of the dreamy word jumble stickers.

inside my album i chose to basically reflect and collect all of the memories we have created since finding out we were expecting.  these photos were taken of us when we were in las vegas this past october.  it was there that our lives had changed forever when we found out the exciting news!

our "announcement" picture.

the first official baby photo and my first ultrasound picture.  we also found out we were having a boy this day. it was surreal. i still look at this picture and my breath is taken away.  and to think within days this baby will be here just overwhelms my heart with so many emotions.

collections of images my mom has taken of me below. so neat to see the progression and that growing bump!

me at 30 weeks.  i really felt 30 weeks was a huge milestone. not sure why, but it just was for me! :)

still need to finish my journaling.

this album is still not yet fully complete.  more journaling needs to be done, more photos to be added but i am so happy that i have this moment documented.  it is so easy for time to pass us by, we think we remember, or will remember, but the truth is life happens and we forget.  i know i will cherish this album 2 weeks from now, 2 months from now….2 years from now.  such precious memories need to be documented and i feel so fortunate that i was able to write them down.  i know it is not always easy, we do not always have the energy, the time, the will power or the "inspiration" to do it.  but in the end, it really is all we have.

so until this little baby arrives, i will take this time to enjoy these last days and enjoy this very precious time. xoxo
