sometimes you just need to "craft it out". lately that is my motto.
it is so easy to choose less productive and unhealthy habits when dealing with stress, boredom, unhappiness, loneliness etc. that finally i just had to take some time for me and indulge in some "craft therapy".
i was inspired by many things to create this project. i was inspired by the gorgeous new heidi swapp collection: mixed company. i was inspired by glitter, sparkles, stamping, text and just the need to dig in my stash and CREATE something. plain and simple. i was also inspired by THIS album Heidi Swapp designed and actually taught this weekend for True Scrap. seriously so beautiful.
the intention with this album is to fill it with thoughts, goals, quotes, photos and bits and pieces that just serve as reminders to be happy, courageous and intentional with my thoughts and the way i process what i am currently feeling. especially to be productive. positive. purposeful. disengage from the maladaptive and the distractive tendencies that i feel have gotten out of control lately. to just remove these elements from my mind.
to create this album, i literally dug in my stash to find some chipboard which i trimmed to 6 inches by 8 inches. i then covered it with the gorgeous leopard print paper from the mixed company paper pack. once covered, i added some of the gorgeous new color magic resist striped chipboard letters misted with my new favorite color shine colour: sea foam and the mixed company buzz words glitter stickers. the "hello" embellishment was created using the FABULOUS epiphany crafts round 25 tool (which i am seriously addicted to and every one needs in their stash. yes needs!) and the 6 x 6 mixed company paper pad. the rest of the stamping is a collection of teresa collins, pink paislee and heidi swapp.
to bind my album together i used my bind it all to punch all of my pages together. the inside pages are still blank waiting to be filled. they are a collection of white cardstock, mixed company, vintage chic, memory files and sugar chic papers. i just love how no matter the collection, they all just fit. :)intentional journaling and creativity has definitely been on my mind lately and for me, it goes hand in hand. wish me luck on this new journey of expression as i am really looking forward to spending some time working, creating and healing with my new little creation.
Lindsay this is just soooo beautiful, thankyou for sharing it with us....
